Liberia Drawn Against Chad in 2021 AFCON Qualifiers 

The draw for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers has been made, with the Lone Star being drawn against Chad in the preliminary round.

Lone Star will play in the preliminary round to reach the group stage of the qualifiers. Qualification for Liberia ahead of Chad will see them entering Group A, where they’ll be paired with Guinea, Mali, and Namibia.

With Chad yet to get a win against Liberia, the Lone Star will be going the preliminary qualifiers as the favorites, having knocked out Chad in the 2002 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Liberia won 1-0 away on April 9, 2000, before playing to a goalless draw in the second leg at the Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Complex on April 23, 2000.

The Lone Star first defeated their 2021 Africa Cup of Nations preliminary round opponents 2-1 in the French Colonial Tournament on April 15, 1963.

The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations will be the 33rd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations and will be hosted in Cameroon. The qualifiers will commence October 2019 and end in November 2020.
