PSA: Labour Ministry Mandates Full Compliance with Labour Laws

As part of government’s mandate to ensuring full adherence to the Decent Work Act of 2015 and the compliance to the Labour Standards of the Republic of Liberia, the Ministry of Labour is hereby requesting all employers to regularize the status of every alien employee within their employed and also make full disclosure on all alien employees within their workplace(s). This exercise takes immediate effect and will end on the 31st of March, 2018.

Please be warned that any noncompliance to this mandate will be a serious violation of the Labour Law and will be dealt with in keeping with the laws of the Republic of Liberia. Therefore, you are advised to declare truthfully. In addition, the Ministry of Labour will begin a joint nationwide inspection of all employment institutions beginning the 1st of April 2018.

The joint team will include the Ministry of Labour, the Liberia Revenue Authority and the Liberia Immigration Services (LIS) to ensure that employers are in full adherence to this mandate. Thanks for your understanding and timely cooperation
