Just before the start of the 2016 season, Liberian international midfielder Eric Weeks ended his seven years of playing his professional soccer career in Indonesia and signed with Malaysia Super League club Perak FA for six months.
Liberian national Eric Weeks moved to Malaysian club Perak FA in January 2016, after spending a couple of years playing in Indonesia. His previous clubs include Persiwa Wamena, Sriwijaya, Mitra Kukar and Pusamania Borneo FC.
Liberian international Eric Weeks of Perak FA won his second victory in the ongoing Malaysian Superleague with an emphatic 3-2 win over Felda United, the club team of fellow Liberians, Zah Krangar, and Francis Forkey Doe.
Many Liberians playing abroad were disappointed over the weekend as their clubs played poorly. The exception was the Liberians playing in Malaysia who had a joyous weekend after their respective clubs moved to the third round of the Malaysia Cup.
The Perak Stadium was the center of attraction on Feb. 16 in the second round of the Malaysia Superleague when fans gathered at the 42,500-seater stadium to watch Eric Weeks’ club Perak play against Patrick Ronaldinho Wleh’s Selangor.
The Malaysia football league kicked off over the weekend with four Liberian internationals in action at four different venues.
Football fans in Malaysia will again gather at various football stadiums in the country to support their clubs as players kick off the new football league season on Feb. 12.
