Security sources in Zorzor have revealed that the man in police custody for the murder of Sienneh Korvieh is no longer a suspect. They are now seeking the arrest of another individual in the incidence which led to riots in Zorzor District from March 4 to 5.
Security forces have restored calm to Zorzor after rioting due to the murder of a 31-year old woman. The Liberia National Police, Bureau of Immigration and Naturalization, and NSA have increased patrol of the district, buttressed by UNMIL.
There was unrest in Zorzor on Wednesday as angry youth burned down businesses and homes owned by residents from the Mandingo ethnic group in retaliation for the murder of a pregnant woman.
