Tonia Tisdell Extends Nea Salamis Stay

Liberian winger Tonia Tisdell has put an end to all speculations surrounding his next move during the 2019 summer transfer window, as he extended his stay with Cypriot club, Nea Salamis.

The 27-year-old attacker signed a one-year deal with the club with the option of an extension at the end of the season. Tisdell joined the Ammochostos-based club during the 2019 winter transfer on loan from Turkish first division club, Denizlispor.

Tisdell put an end to his ten years of playing professional football in Turkey when he joined Nea Salamis in January. The swift winger joined the club after failing to settle for a place on Denizlispor first team.

His move to Nea Salamis turned out to be the best for him as he finally started having some game time. Tisdell scored once and provided three assists in six games before picking up a wrist injury while playing for Liberia in the last 2019 AFCON qualifier away at DR Congo.

He returned to Cyprus and had a successful surgery, which ruled him out for the rest of the season as his time at the club expired at the end of the season. With his loan extended, Tisdell will be hoping to make name for himself in the upcoming season and seal a move to a top league in the future.
