MONROVIA, Montserrado – Trust Savings Credit Union, the regional Credit Union serving three counties including Bong, Lofa and Nimba has been awarded the award for the “Outstanding Credit Union of the Year 2015” by the Monrovia-based Africa Watch Newspaper.

Managing Editor Joseph S. Wiah, who made the presentation, said the award is in recognition of the credit union’s dedicated services to society as a whole.

“Today we are awarding you this certificate based on your commitments and dedication to serving the people of Liberia; especially the rural people,” Wiah said.

“This is a challenge to you,” he added. “As you have started doing already, let this serve as a motivation for you to continue to demonstrate such a commitment to the economic growth and development of our beloved country, Liberia.”

Receiving the award on behalf of the credit union, the Acting Manager, Thomas M. Demawu promised to continue serving the people of Liberia with dedication.

“We are so grateful, as a young financial entity, to receive such an award. We are committed to serving the people of Liberia through the provision of affordable financial services…” Demawu said.

He said that the award was a result of the efforts of the credit union over the years from the management team to the board of directors.

Trust Savings Credit Union is one of the Four Regional Credit Unions created through the Liberia Credit Union National Association’s partnership with the World Council of Credit Union to revitalize and modernize the sector.
