MONROVIA, Montserrado – The National Elections Commission has released the final voter roll, comprising the ultimate list of registered voters for the pending legislative and presidential elections.
According to NEC, a total of 2,183,683 people registered to vote on October 10 with female voters constituting 49 percent of the total registrants.
Montserrado records the highest population of registered voters with 777,503, constituting 35 percent, followed by Nimba, Bong, and Lofa. River Gee is recorded as the least populated county, with only one percent of all registered voters.
In terms of gender representation on the voter roll, Lofa registered the highest number of female voters, with 52.4 percent of its voters being females. Gbarpolu recorded the least percentage of registered female voters with 43.4 percent.
According to the commission, the average age of registered voters is 35. Additionally, 108,485 of the total voters are 18 years of age.
Meanwhile, objections and appeals on candidates who were nominated are being held ahead of the publication of the final list of candidates on Monday.
The commission is also expected to declare political campaigning opening on Monday in line with the electoral calendar.
