WAKA TOWN, Grand Bassa – A 39-year-old man identified as Mark Gblozeo has been reportedly stabbed to death by his friend in Waka Town, Grand Bassa.
According to eyewitnesses, Gblozeo was stabbed by Sabastine Reeves in his chest with a pair of scissors on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at a local drinking spot.
The eyewitnesses told The Bush Chicken that Gblozeo had gone along with colleagues on Thursday morning to a store that sold alcohol when the incident occurred.
Investigators have not yet established all the details of the situation, as many of those present fled the scene and are refusing to speak on the record.
Meanwhile, Sabastine Reeves was arrested by residents of Waka Town Thursday evening and turned over to police. Another suspect, Theresa Reeves, who owns the liquor shop where the incident took place, is still on the run.
Gblozeo was a popular motorcyclist who lived in Gblozeo Town in Vanmore Township. He is the father of eight children. His body was turned over to the administrator of Waka Town, Joe Reeves.
Joe Reeves said the owner of the liquor shop has contributed to an increase in drug and alcohol abuse in the area, especially among the young people in the community.
“What we have been saying has come to pass today,†he told The Bush Chicken. “This lady has spent over eight years within this community selling drugs and liquor to our children.â€
He said many motorcyclists in Waka Town have become drugs addicts since Theresa Reeves started her business, adding that she posed a serious threat to the community. Unsurprisingly, the houses belonging to both Theresa Reeves and Abortha Morgan, the mother of Sabastine Reeves, were burnt by an angry crowd.
