NEEZWEIN, River Cess – A U.S. based diaspora group has donated US$30,000 worth of supplies to a clinic in Central River Cess.
On Friday, April 22, Geebamu International, Inc. presented several medical and non-medical items to the Neezwein Community Clinic. The president of the organization, Josephine Sekajipo, told The Bush Chicken that her institution’s core function is to supply medical equipment to rural health facilities.
“We have come to help the rural areas with these medical equipment to help reduce some of the medical problems,†Sekajipo said.
Several items including wheelchairs, gloves, painkillers, gowns, and other assorted items were given to the clinic while the elderly and people living with disabilities were directly given wheelchairs.

Sekajipo said other counties, including Bomi, Grand Cape Mount, Margibi, and Montserrado, had benefited from the organization; however, the bad road conditions had prevented them from targeting other southeastern counties besides River Cess.
“Our main target was the southeastern counties, but we could not reach there because of the condition of the road,” Sekajipo said. “It is our hope and prayers that we reach there other times.”
Certified midwife Minnie Taywhea received the items on behalf of the clinic.
“These items came on time – I say on time because we were almost going out of some,” Taywhea said. “I want to say thanks to the donors, you can be assured that these things will be used for the intended purposes.”
