Sam Johnson’s lucrative move to China despite interest from top European clubs sparked huge criticism among football fans and pundits who expected him to move to bigger a European league.
He was heavily criticized for placing money ahead of his career and being afraid of going for a greater challenge.
Sam made his debut for Wuhan Zall on a very promising note, scoring twice on his debut to help his side grab a 2-0 win at home against Shenzen Football Club. Immediately, the former Djurgardens attacker, via his Facebook page responded to his critics by telling them to “Shut the f**k off.â€
His vulgar post was later edited, but Truth FM’s sports reporter, Varflay Kamara, said Johnson acted very unprofessional by insulting football fans openly on social media.
He said: “I thought Sam [was] a cool guy. To be honest, I never expected such from him. Now, he is a professional player. He should expect all of these. Insulting on the social network, he behaves very unprofessionally.â€
