TUBMANBURG, Bomi – The Bush Chicken has reliable information that on Tuesday there was a quarrel between two of the fifteen Liberian girls who were allegedly trafficked to Lebanon.
The girls have been in the custody of the Government of Liberia since their return to the country in March 2015.
Following their return, they were placed in government custody in Kakata and later transferred to Bomi to serve as state witnesses in the human trafficking case.
An individual present during the altercation confirmed that two of the 15 trafficked Liberian girls engaged in a fight after an argument. One of the girls attempted to hit the other with a chair. She was then taken to the police station in Tubmanburg but released later that day.
The girls are in the care of H. Deddeh J. Wilson, Acting Chief Prosecutor, Ministry of Justice, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Unit in Tubmanburg, Bomi County.
When contacted for comments, Wilson said the information was not important to her, and she would not speak on it any further.
“The important thing to me now is to go through the case,†Wilson said.
