MONROVIA, Liberia – The Liberian National Police (LNP) has announced that a foreign pathologist is expected to carry out an autopsy on the remains of Cllr. Micheal N. Allison, former National Oil Company of Liberia (NOCAL) consultant and Managing Director of the BRICS Mano River Union Legal Consultants.
Chris Massaquoi, the police director, said in a statement on Feb. 15 that the government is now making arrangements for an international pathologist to be flown in to conduct a full-scale autopsy report. FrontPageAfrica later confirmed that the pathologist is a Dr. Simeon Owizz Koroma from Sierra Leone.
Massaquoi said the LNP have launched an immediate investigation into the case and urged the general public to provide any further information that would be helpful to the investigation.
“The body of the victim is presently deposited at the John F. Kennedy Hospital’s morgue for preservation, pending autopsy,†the statement from the LNP stated.
The late Allison’s body was found early Friday morning on a beach behind the Royal Air Maroc Monrovia office in only underwear.
Allison reportedly blew the whistle that led to an ongoing investigation by the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) of improprieties at NOCAL. The incident involved the Speaker of the House of Representative J. Alex Tyler, Representative Adolph Lawrence, a Ghanaian Lawyer and two Liberian lawyers.
The late Cllr. Allison was the son of former Liberia’s Defense Minister Gray D. Allison.
