Liberian striker Abu Razard Kamara has completed his move to Kosovo club Kluni Futbollistik Feronikeli after two weeks of trial with the eastern European team.
The 20-year- old striker passed his physical and signed a three-year contract with the Kosovo top tier club.
“Following few weeks of observation, we are pleased to officially introduce Liberian forward, Abu Kamara, as a new member of the squad and (he) will be given the number 21 shirt,†the club confirmed via its official Facebook page.
Kamara caught the attention of several European and Asian clubs following his outstanding performance in the Lao Premier league with Champasak United, CSC Champa, and VSV united. The former Ganta Black Star striker who became the league’s top scorer twice told The Bush Chicken he’s excited about joining the club and wants to give his best performance.
“Big thanks to FK Feronikeli for the warm welcome,†Kamara said. “I am happy to see myself playing for the best club in Kosovo. I promise to do my best to help the club achieve more.â€
He was one of the 22-man delegation comprising of Liberians, Ghanaians, Guineans, and Sierra Leoneans footballers that traveled to Lao in 2015 for greener pastures. After several trials, Kamara impressed Champasak United and signed a one-year deal. After a year with Champasak, he moved to CSC Champa, where he proved to be a top striker. His 16 goals at the end of the league season made him the league’s highest goal scorer and he became the most wanted man in the little-known Asian state.
Ahead of the 2016 league season, he ended all speculation and joined VSV United. Again, Kamara was a threat to defenses with his goal-scoring ability. He scored 19 league goals as VSV ended in the sixth position with 43 points.
He might be one of the key figures for the Liberia national team that is set to begin their qualifying campaign for the 2019 Nations Cup in June.
