SANNIQUELLIE, Nimba – Vice President Joseph N. Boakai is expected to visit Nimba on April 19 to dedicate an office that will allow citizens to obtain marriage licenses and other government documents without traveling to Monrovia.
“The purpose of his visit is to dedicate firstly the County Service Center in Sanniquellie, he will also use the opportunity to meet with local officials of the county and a cross section of citizens,†Nimba’s Superintendent Fong Zuagele said.
The service center, which is part of the government’s effort towards decentralization, is expected to allow residents to obtain government documents such as marriage licenses, work permits, and driver’s licenses, among others.
In 2012, the government opened its first service center in Buchanan to provide needed government documentations to citizens in that part of the country. A recent report from UNMIL Radio said the Buchanan Service Center generated over L$1 million (US$ 11,111) in 2015 for its services offered.
