YARPAH TOWN, River Cess – Young people of River Cess have not had any place to meet and discuss their concerns. But this is about to change soon when the youth center under construction in the Central River Cess town of Yarpah is completed.

The project is situated in River Cess’ second district, which is represented by Byron Zanwhea. The representative sought fundings for the project under the Legislative Support Projects fund. The building’s cost has not been disclosed.

Previously confined to conducting their affairs at business centers and other gatherings, the young people in the county have been speaking to The Bush Chicken on how they feel about the project.

The youth speaker of Yarpah Town, Daniel Dolo, noted that the project will impact the lives of young people in the county in many ways.

“This youth center will help us in many ways. We will come here to have our meetings, and play different games,” Dolo said. “Besides that, students will also come here to study their lessons.”

The chairman of the group Concerned Youth of Yarpah Town, Samuel Contar, said the project is the first of its kind in the county.

“We, the young people in this district — we are happy for this great development,” Contar said. “This is our first time seeing this kind of development in this county. And at least we will now have somewhere to sit and discuss as young people.”

The project, when completed and dedicated, will be the first government-funded project to be dedicated under the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf administration.
