MONROVIA, Montserrado – The president of the Liberia Football Association, Mustapha Raji, has made three new appointments within the association’s leadership.
Those appointed are FIFA-badged referee Isaac Montgomery as secretary general, Henry Brown as technical director, and former assistant treasurer Joseph Sheriff as acting treasurer.
Montgomery replaced Emmanuel O. Deah, who had been secretary general since November 2016, while Brown and Sheriff replaced Francis Tamba and Jallah D. Corvah, respectively.
Montgomery has served as a FIFA international referee since 2013. He became famous as a referee in 2009. As an international referee, the newly appointed LFA official officiated several international matches including Confederation of African Football inter-club competitions, Africa Nations Cup qualifiers, and FIFA international games.
Aside from being a referee, Montgomery works as a senior audit supervisor at BICON Incorporated, a certified public accounting firm. He holds a Master of Business Administration degree in accounting from the University of Liberia.
His predecessor, Deah, praised the former LFA president, Musa Bility, for the opportunity provided him to serve the institution.
“It was a great pleasure serving my country as [secretary general] of the LFA,” he wrote on social media.
Brown, the new technical director, also earlier served the association as technical director during the administration of Bility before being replaced in 2017. He made his return to the football house after being out for less than a year.
