MONROVIA, Montserrado – In an effort to improve youth football in Liberia, the Liberia Football Association, in partnership with Belgium Pro League club RSC Anderlecht, has begun a one-week training camp for players under the age of 20 from the various clubs in Liberia.
Via their official Facebook page, the LFA had initially announced on May 28 that they had reached an agreement with the Belgium top tier club for a partnership. The partnership was also said to have included the club’s scouting department. According to the release, a team from Anderlecht was expected in June to begin work with the young talents.
In keeping with their promise, RSC Anderlecht has sent Christian Nsengi-Biembi to conduct the training program. According to the LFA, Nsengi-Biembi, who is the assistant coach of Anderlecht’s under-19 and under-20 teams, arrived in the country over the weekend and began his training program with the youngsters on Monday, June 19 at the George Weah Technical Center in Careysburg, Monsterrado.
The training session will give Nsengi-Biembi the opportunity to identify young players who may have a potential for further development.
