MONROVIA, Montserrado – The Liberia Football Association has announced that an agreement was reached by executive committee members to give US$4,200 in grants to each club in the first, second, and women’s top divisions to help them during the Coronavirus pandemic.
According to a press release from the football house, the secretary-general of the Liberia Football Association, Isaac Montgomery, also urged all football stakeholders to adhere to all preventive measures prescribed by the government to help fight against the spread of the virus.
“In these unprecedented circumstances, let us show our solidarity in the fight against the Coronavirus and prevent further spread of the virus,†he said. “Together as a unit, I believe that we can collectively eliminate the Coronavirus out of Liberia and the rest of the world.â€
All football activities are on hold in Liberia, as they are in most parts of the world due to the pandemic.
Meanwhile, the LFA has also confirmed that the honorariums of executive committee members, salary advances to employees, and payments of arrears to former and current technical staffs of the national team were approved for the next two months.
