MONROVIA, Montserrado – Liberia’s national football team will soon play the Harambee Stars of Kenya in a FIFA international friendly.
The Liberia Football Association has confirmed through its secretary general, Emmanuel O. Deah, that the match will take place between the 7th and 15th of November.
According to Deah, the Kenya Football Federation will take responsibility for local transportation, hotel accommodations, and the entry visas for a 30-man delegation.
He also noted that preparation for the friendly encounter will begin this week with the local players. He said five foreign-based players will join later, including CAF Champions League winner Anthony Snoti Laffor and Africa Player of the year nominee William Jebor.
Head coach James Debbah, who is currently undergoing training in the United Kingdom, is also expected to allow new players to make an international debut.
The match will be played at Kasarani Stadium in Kenya and will be the third clash between both countries.
The two sides last played on August 12, 1989, in the qualification of the Italy 1990 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Kenya defeated the Lonestar 1-0 in Nairobi, after a previous match that ended in a goalless draw in Monrovia on January 22, 1989.
