MONROVIA, Montserrado – The Liberia Football Association has set October 24 as the kickoff date for the 2020-21 football season.
The president of the football association, Mustapha Raji, made the disclosure during a videoconferencing call with football stakeholders and sports journalists.
According to Raji, the registration of players will commence on August 3 and end on October 4. He disclosed that clubs would use the ‘FIFA connect system’ for the registration of players before the new league season begins.
The LFA has been conducting training for clubs in the first, second, and women’s divisions to enable them to use the system ahead of the registration period.
“Our aim is to use the FIFA connect system for the registration of players for the new season. We’ve started conducting training for the clubs. We are encouraging them to make use of the opportunity and get ready when the registration of players begins in August,” Raji said.
The 2019-20 season was canceled by the LFA due to COVID-19, with all results nullified, and there were no champions declared and no relegations.
