Two months after returning to Malaysia to play for PDRM FA in the Malaysian Premier League, Patrick Ronaldinho Wleh has scored his first set of goals for his new club.
The Liberian international scored a hattrick on Tuesday, April 9 to help PDRM grab their first win of the season. The Corps, as PDRM is nicknamed, grabbed a 5-2 win over Sarawak FA during its eighth match of the 2019 Malaysia Premier League.
PDRM came from two goals down in the first half to snatch the three points by scoring five in the second half. Georgi Kinkladze Tom opened the scoring for Sarawak in the sixth minute before Alif Hassan doubled the lead in the 34th minute.
However, PDRM returned from the break stronger with a goal in the 47th minute. Fauzan Fauzi pulled a goal back and Wleh got the score leveled four minutes later. PDRM went on dominating the match after getting the equalizer and took the lead for the first time in the 59th minute when Lee Chang-Hoon scored from the penalty spot to make the score 3-2.
Four minutes after taking the lead, PDRM added to their goals through Wleh, who got his second. Wleh scored with a header from inside the penalty box to make it 4-2 in favor of PDRM.
Despite a two-goal lead, the Corps continued to fight to add more goals. After numerous fruitless efforts, Wleh registered his third goal in the 80th minute. Wleh completed his hattrick and walked away with the match ball as he opened his PDRM scoring account with three goals.
It was Wleh’s first league goals since he last scored in a Malaysian Super League between PKNS FC and his former club, Selangor FA, in 2017. He scored once to help PKNS grab a 2-1 win over Selangor on September 20, 2017.
