MONROVIA, Montserrado – Since his failure to sign with the Egyptian club Ismaily SC, not much was heard of the Liberian international striker Patrick Ronaldinho Wleh until the morning hours of Friday, May 4 when he was linked to a sex video scandal.
Three sexual videos leaked on social media including his wife, Femah Wleh, an alleged fiancée identified as Hawah Zeon, and an unknown woman.
The act was immediately condemned by Liberia’s youth and sports minister, who said the player would never again play for the national dream team. He wrote, “There is a disturbing video being circulated about a gentleman and people are alleging he is a player of our national team. I do not know this person and I am not aware of him being a player of the national team. I can guarantee you all that if this information is true, his service with the Lonestar will be over effective immediately.â€
Wleh, who is yet to make an official statement on the issue, told The Bush Chicken that he’s confused about how the videos were leaked.
“I don’t know how it really happened,†Wleh said. “I remember deleting those things and the phone was even lost. I just don’t know how.â€
The incident appeared not to bother Wleh’s wife, Femah Wleh, who took to Facebook to express herself. In her post, she said the incident occurred in the past and her love for her husband continues.
“You keep looking for the video of me and my husband. Hmmm. You can’t bring me down. I love my husband more and more. It’s my husband’s past,†she wrote.
The Liberia Football Association has yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
