GREENVILLE, Sinoe – Sinoe’s Sen. Augustine Chea has begun distributing over US$10,000 worth of food items and COVID-19 preventative materials to several institutions in the county.
Last weekend in Greenville, a representative of the senator, Sorbor Wesseh, said more than 500 bags of rice and 500 buckets were among the items being distributed. The F.J. Grant Hospital, members of the disabled community, and the local Bureau of Correction and Rehabilitation would benefit from the donations, he said, in addition to 22 communities in Greenville District.
Sorbor Wesseh used the occasion to encourage the Sinoe residents to keep observing the health measures prescribed by the government.
“While it is true that our people, especially those in the interior, are crying for food and other basic needed items amid the state of emergency as a result of the virus, we also want to call on them to follow the health rules by regular hands washing, observing social distancing, among other rules in order to be safe,” Wesseh said.
Sinoe recorded its first case on April 22 and has had two cumulative cases.
