William Jebor Returns to Wydad

Liberian striker William Jebor has returned to club football after more than four months without a club. The 25-year-old Liberian striker has rejoined his former club, Wydad Cassablanca of the Moroccan Botola Pro League, as a free agent.

Jebor featured for the Moroccan side during the 2016-17 league season where he made name for himself by winning the Moroccan Botola Pro golden boots with 19 goals and helping the Red Knights finish as champions.

He joined the club on loan from Portuguese Liga club, Rio Ave, where his contract had run out at the end of the 2016-17 season. His brilliant performances during the loan spell with Wydad encouraged the club to give him an increase offer to stay in North Africa.

After Wydad, Jebor briefly took up a new challenge with Saudi Arabian club, Al-Nassr. He signed a three-year deal with the Saudi Arabian side, but ended up staying for less than six months before mutually agreeing with the club to depart. Unlike in Morocco where he was rocking the goals, he found life difficult as he was able to score just three times from 11 appearances.

Jebor’s return to Wydad, which will take effect on July 1 as reported by Transfer Market, has not been confirmed by the club, but it’s been reported by top news outlets across North Africa including the Egyptian online news outlet, KingFut and the Moroccan sports website, Khabar Maroc.
