MONROVIA, Montserrado – The National Elections Commission has officially commenced exhibition of the Provisional Voter Roll for the October presidential and legislative elections.
Provisional roll is the compilation of information, including names, photos, center codes, ages, among others of individuals who registered during the voter registration between February and March this year.
The exhibition kicked off on June 12 and would take place at all 2,080 centers previously used during the voter registration exercise.
In line with the electoral calendar, the exercise is expected to be completed on Saturday, June 17.
The exhibition is a period when voters can verify their registration information and when others can challenge registrants who have been erroneously registered. For example, registered voters who are not Liberian citizens, are below the voting age or reside in a district different than where they are registered, can have their registration challenged.
The elections commission disclosed that it has deployed 416 electoral supervisors across the country to monitor and coordinate the exhibition activities.
“They are working under the supervision of the assistants and electoral magistrates of the 15 counties of the country,†the press release read.
The exercise will be followed by the holding and determination of objections and appeals on the exhibition between June 12 and 28, 2017. Candidate nominations will take place between June 19 and July 11, 2017.
The Commission is urging all Liberians in possession of valid voter registration cards to take advantage of the exhibition period, which runs from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.
