PAYNESVILLE, Montserrado – Just less than a week after the announcement of the head coach of Monsterrado County football team, the team has started its recruitment process for the upcoming National County Sports Meet.
During the first training session on October 15, Head Coach Amos Smith said he is hoping to get best players to lead the county to glory. The training took place at the Voker Mission Community sports pitch.
“We started today, and we are hoping to do our best and get out the best players that will give us the needed result,” Smith said. “Though we started a bit late, with the experience of my technical staff, we will have the best players selected.”
Smith said Montserrado’s selection process will be tougher than usual because the team started recruitment late.
“Many counties started training months ago and have played several friendly matches,” he added. “Now they are concluding to move on camp but we’ve just started ours, and we have less than two months, so we will have to work overtime to catch up.”
Monsterrado was drawn in Group D, along with Gbarpolu and Margibi counties.
