On Friday, July 1, the Press Union of Liberia awarded our reporter, Zeze Ballah with the Photojournalist of the Year Award. Here are the pictures that won him the award.

Soldiers conduct training simulations in Clay-Ashland. The photo appeared in the article titled, “As UNMIL Draws Down, AFL Conducts Training Simulations,” which was published on March 7, 2016.

In this photo, Ballah snapped a home in Zorzor that was partly damaged as a result of storms characterized by high winds. The photo was featured in “Storm Damages School and Leaves Residents Homeless in Zorzor,” which was published on Oct. 14, 2015.

This picture of travelers pushing a vehicle stuck in the mud in Salayea, Lofa appeared in “Lofa’s Deplorable Roads May Get Upgrade,” published on Oct. 17, 2015.

Ballah captured residents of New Matadi Estate crossing a makeshift bridge, before construction on a new foot bridge began. The photo featured prominently in the article, “Residents of the 9th District Get US$66,900 to Construct Bridge,” published on June 2, 2015.
