MONROVIA, Montserrado – The Liberian Football Association has sacked five coaches of various national football teams, according to a press release issued by the organization.
Those who were shown the exit doors are Oliver Makor, deputy head coach of the under-20 team; Joe Nagbe, head coach of the under-17 team; George Gebro, deputy head coach of the under-17 team; Varmah Kpoto, head coach of the under-14 team; and Jonah Sarwieh, deputy head coach of the under-14 team.
The LFA has also terminated the services of Washington Blay, the administrative manager of the senior national team.
In a separate communication to the affected coaches, LFA’s Acting Secretary-General Emmanuel Deah said the association took the decision after observing their technical activities.
The release quotes Deah as telling the coaches that the decision is based on administrative and financial reasons. The individuals had not completed their one-year probation period.
Meanwhile, the LFA has retained the services of the senior national team’s Head Coach James Salinsa Debbah and his deputy, Kelvin Sebwe. Thomas Kojo and Janjay Jacobs will also stay on as head and deputy head coaches of the under-23 team while Christopher Wreh will stay on as head coach of the under-20 team.
