South African-based Liberian forward Anthony Snoti Laffor is hoping to win his first continental trophy when his Mamelodi Sundowns takes on Egyptian Premier League giant Zamalek SC tomorrow in the first leg of the 2016 CAF Champions League final.

The Sundowns reached the CAF Champions League final following a 3-2 aggregate win over Zambia League Champions, Zesco United.

Recently, the Sundowns failed to win their first silverware in 2016 after a 3-1 defeat to Bid Vest Wits in the MTN-8 final. A win in the final of the CAF Champions League will restore pride among the Sundowns’ supporters.

Winning the CAF Champions League would be a dream come true for Laffor, who revealed the Sundowns have been preparing well for the top encounter.

The veteran forward told The Bush Chicken his team is aiming to score more goals ahead of the return leg in Cairo.

”Our preparation is like the same as [for] any other game. We know it will be [a] tough encounter, but we are going into the match to score more goals on Saturday before the return leg in Cairo,” Laffor said.

The Sundowns recorded back-to-back wins against Zamalek in the group stage of the competition, and the Egyptians may come back stronger for the final to avoid further defeats, but Laffor is confident of his team repeating the group result.

“We are in full readiness and 100 percent set,” Laffor said. “They will surely come back stronger than before, and we have to be very careful with them.  We proved supremacy in the group stage, and we can do the same again because we are well prepared for it. They are coming stronger, and we are set to engage them.”

The last time the Mamelodi Sundowns played in the CAF Champions League final was back in 2010, when they lost to the competition’s highest carrier, Al Ahly of the Egyptian Premier League.
