Robert Coleman Named Monsterrado Captain

MONROVIA, Montserrado – The technical staff of Monsterrado’s football team have named Robert Dweh Coleman as the captain for the upcoming 2016-17 National County Sports Meet.

Coleman, who played a key role in helping Monsterrado reach the final of last year’s County Meet, will succeed Harrison Mahn of relegated second division team, Aries Football Club.

Mahn led Monsterrado to the last final, and replacing him was the decision that head coach, Samuel Sumo said was discussed before the announcement.

“We spoke to Mahn about the decision and he understood,” Sumo said. “He is an important figure in the team and will continue to be. He had no problem and even started working along with Coleman. He is a respected player in the dressing room. He is loved by everyone and also very committed. Making him the captain isn’t strange because he has that leadership ability. He has served as a captain for his club for over three years and has been an inspiration throughout.”

Coleman, who will be making his fourth county meet appearance, thanked Monsterrado’s staff for believing in him and has vowed to cooperate well with both his teammates and the technical staff.

“I can promise that I will work with everybody to make my tenure a success,” Coleman told The Bush Chicken.
