Chauncy Freeman Vows to Fight for Place on Nimba’s Team

Striker Chauncy Freeman has vowed to fight to be part of Nimbas’s final 23-man squad for the 2015-2016 Liberia County Sports Meet, after being named to the provisional team.

The strong and powerful front-man was called up to Nimbas’s provisional 35-man squad for the month-long tournament.

Freeman, who plays for the third division side Swankamore Football Club, has featured in some Nimba friendly matches.

He says he is desperate for the chance to play for Nimba County.

“I have been waiting for this opportunity to play in the county meet. This indeed is a dream come true for me. I am really glad,” Freeman said. “We have an assignment to play in December, and I want to be part of the final squad. I know it is not going to be easy, but I will try as much as possible to prove my worth on the field.”

“At the beginning of the justification process, we were over 100. We were later cut down to 50 before dropping to 35. I’ve been doing my best and still want to do more to get the coach convince,” concluded Freeman.

Ten players will be dropped from Nimba’s team for the tournament and Freeman must convince the head coach, Musa Fofana and his technical staff that he deserves to make the final squad.
