Liberian striker Kpah Sherman continues to enjoy one of his best times in his football career in the 2018 Malaysia Premier League as he continues to be a regular scorer this season for his MISC-MIFA Football Club.
The former Black Aces Football Club striker found the back of the net twice during a midweek fixture against Sabah FA to increase his league goals to 12 in 15 appearances. However, his moves were not enough to prevent MISC-MIFA from bowing to their opponent after a 3-2 score line at the end of the final whistle.
Going into the match second on the league table, Sherman’s MISC-MIFA continued their quest to gain promotion, but they fell to their hosts, who walked away with all three points after overcoming Sherman’s two goals a with a goal each from 24-year-old Malaysian defender Rawilson Batuil, Malaysian 21-year-old forward Hamran Peters, and Hector Ramos.
MISC-MIFA began the match on a promising note, with two goals in a span of 33 minutes. Sherman got the curtain raiser in the 17th minute before adding his second in the 33rd minute. Despite playing away from home, Sabah kept pushing for a goal until the 36th minute when Rawilson Batuil registered a goal to reduce the deficit. MISC-MIFA held on to their 2-1 lead until the end of the first half.
It was during the second period of the match that MISC-MIFA fell to their host after conceding two additional goals. Hamran Peters got the score leveled in the 49th minute before Hector Ramos got a late winner in the 83rd minute.
The narrow defeat to Sabah dropped MISC-MIFA from the second position on the league table to the third with 23 points from 16 games while Sherman took his tally to 12 league goals from 15 appearances.
Founded in 2014 to elevate the Indian Community in Malaysia, MISC-MIFA may not be the most storied club, but Sherman is making his time at the club a remarkable one with his scoring form.
