While Liberian musicians generally aren’t recognized or valued in society, it is important to recognize a few of them who are phenomenal performers. Whether it’s the level of energy they bring to the stage or the ability to perform exceptionally without the assistance of studio enhancements, these are the five best Liberian Acts worth seeing live.

Pillz

Pillz is one of the best female artists I have seen perform live to date. Her fierce attitude and powerful vocal tone are captivating.  The Afro-pop singer commands the stage, and she knows how to maintain the audience’s interest.

Waste Dem

Waste Dem is constantly improving as a performer. His charisma sets him apart from other HipCo artists. Waste Dem’s stage presence is striking, and those in the audience are left mesmerized by his performance and delivery.

Eric Geso

Eric Geso is passionate and energetic on stage. The award-winning singer knows how to put on a great show.

Royal Debusta Pain

Royal Pain is a seasoned artist. The Afro-pop rapper and singer is often referred to as ‘Liberia Timaya’ because he bears a noticeable resemblance to the Nigerian singer. Royal Pain’s iconic dance moves prove that he is one of the best entertainers in Liberia.

J-Max

J-Max is an emerging singer-songwriter. The young star’s breakout single “Marry You” became an instant hit. J-Max knows how to keep his audience on their toes during performances.
