MONROVIA, Montserrado – The Liberia National Police have arrested, charged and forwarded to court for prosecution a 24-year-old man, Isaac B. Davis, for murder.
According to the police charge sheet, during the course of investigation, eyewitness accounts revealed that Davis and victim Boimah Fahnbulleh were friends and residents of the Perry Street community in Monrovia.
On May 22, a fistfight allegedly ensued between the two men over Fahnbulleh’s missing memory chip.
According to the investigation, during the fight between the two, Fahnbulleh overpowered Davis and delivered several punches to the defendant, causing him to sustain injuries to his shoulder and face.
After the two were separated, Davis apparently became furious and ran into a nearby shop, collecting a kitchen knife, before stabbing the victim on the left side of his neck.
Fahnbulleh, who was bleeding profusely, was immediately rushed to the John F. Kennedy Medical Center, where he later died of his injuries.
Davis escaped the scene following the incident and was later arrested on May 25. He remains at the Monrovia Central Prison, awaiting trial.
Defendant Davis told The Bush Chicken hours before his incarceration at the Monrovia Central Prison that he regrets the incident.
“The incident was never intentional as I was being wounded and provoked, which led to me stabbing Fahnbulleh,†he said.
Davis pleaded for mercy from Fahnbulleh’s family and said he would miss his best friend.
