Liberian striker Patrick Ronaldinho Wleh has sent a touching message to Selangor fans after ending his one-year loan at the club.
The 24-year-old striker joined Selangor from rival PKNS FC before the start of the 2016 Malaysia Super League season. Wleh impressed heavily during the period, scoring 18 goals in 35 appearances, but opted for another challenge elsewhere, as he has bid an emotional farewell to his fans.
The former LISCR FC striker delivered his departing message through Facebook, writing:
“I would like to publicly say a big thanks to Selangor for giving me the opportunity to play in the best club in Malaysia. It is the opportunity I have wished for, and I enjoyed every time with this club. Selangor wasn’t just a football team to me, but a family. Thanks to the staff, the administrators, and the fans that believed in my abilities. I wish Selangor a better luck in the next years to come and hope to be part of this great club history again. As long as I live, there will always be a special place in my heart for the Red Giant.â€
In 2014, Wleh signed a two-year contract with PKNS that runs until 2016. With less than two months until his contract gets expires, he told The Bush Chicken he is in no rush to announce his next plans.
“For now, I cannot tell you what next,†the striker said. “My contract with PKNS has expired and I will have to meet with the club officials before saying anything out to the public. There are other clubs that have approached me on negotiating a deal, but I’m in no rush for a new challenge. My next move will be announced in the final days of my vocation.â€
