Weah Appoints Former Representative to Head National Port Authority

MONROVIA, Montserrado – President George Weah has appointed Bill Twehway as the new Managing Director of the National Port Authority. Twehway formerly represented Montserrado’s third district in the National Legislature.

Twehway lost to Ceebee Barshell in the December 2017 general elections, after earlier protesting the results of the elections and claiming that the process was marked by fraud and irregularities.

Weah had earlier appointed Celia Cuffy Brown as deputy managing director and Brown had been acting as both deputy and acting managing director.

According to an Executive Mansion release issued on Tuesday, the president also appointed Molewuleh Gray as chairman of the National Investment Commission, and Morris Sackor as its executive director.

Also appointed was the chair of the Liberia Energy Regulatory Commission, Aloysius Tarlue . Thomas Harris and Togar Nimley were also appointed as commissioners.
