GBARNGA, Bong – The Bong County Bar Association has congratulated Jewel Howard-Taylor on her election as vice president of Liberia.
Jewel Howard-Taylor, a senator of Bong and a member of the association of legal practitioners from Bong, was recently elected alongside George Weah as vice president in the December 26 Presidential Runoff election.
The association’s congratulatory message was contained in a press release issued on Saturday, January 13.
“Please accept our profound congratulations and pledge of support from the officers and members of the Bong County Bar Association on your election as vice president of the Republic of Liberia,†the release read.
The association expressed optimism that Howard-Taylor’s ascendency to the vice presidency will bring positive change to the country over the coming years.
The release, under the signature of Cllr. George Sagbeh Sr., president of local bar, further pledged the association’s “unflinching support and commitment†to galvanizing the skills needed to support the works of the new government.
Bong’s county government, represented by Superintendent Selena Polson Mappy, recently congratulated Taylor on her election at a town hall meeting in Gbarnga that was attended by the vice president-elect.
Several prominent citizens of the county, including Liberia’s former ambassador to the U.S., Jeremiah Sulunteh, James Saybay, and Stephen Mulbah Jr., have all congratulated Taylor and Weah on their election.
