Police Releases Verbal Accident Report for Nimba

GANTA, Nimba – Last weekend, Alphanso Bemba of the Liberian National Police Public Safety Department provided a verbal report of accident cases that occurred in Nimba in 2015.

Bemba’s report highlighted a variety of accidents from motorcycle colliding with cars, to self-induced accidents.

Police Report

Bemba said a total of 116 deaths occurred in 2015 involving taxis, with 54 of the dead being drivers.

He said the figures were high for the county, however, despite Bemba’s claims, it is difficult to ascertain whether the numbers are declining over previous years. The Liberian National Police does not maintain a website and is notoriously unyielding in releasing detailed historical accident statistics to news outlets.
