LISCR FC striker Christopher Jackson will attend his second preseason camp with two different clubs in less than two months after being named on the 23-man squad for Belarusian club FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk. The team departed Belarus for preseason camp in Cyprus on Saturday, January 27.

Jackson, who had recently completed a week-long preseason camp with Liberia First Division and FA Cup Champions LISCR FC in Sierra Leone, will be hoping for the best of his performance in Cyprus as he continues his trials with the 2005 Belarusian Premier League champions.

He told The Bush Chicken he was glad to be part of the squad for the preseason and ready to do his best to gain confidence from the club’s technical bench. Before the club’s departure to Cyprus, Jackson said he had been praying for such opportunity and he believed that it was the right time to show the technical staff his abilities on the pitch.

“I have a very big task ahead of me. We are going to Cyprus where we will have few games before returning to Belarus,” he said. “It’s actually a big task for me, especially my first time on trials with a European top-flight club. Throughout my life, I have been praying for this opportunity and it has come my way. I think it’s the right time to show the coaches what I have as a player. While I’m praying for the best, I’m ready to put in my all for the positive results. It’s not easy but with focus and determination, I can make it.”

FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk will have their training camp in Cyprus until the 10^th of February. The club will play two friendly matches before their return to Belarus for the start 2018 Belarusian football season. They will play their first friendly on the 30^th of January when they meet the Czech Republic’s FK Teplice before their second and final match in Cyprus on the 2^nd of February against FK Mlada Boleslav.

Meanwhile Jackson’s parent club, LISCR FC continues to show their support for their star man, who left them with less than a month to their crucial CAF Champions League preliminary round against Sudanese Premier League giant, Al-Hilal.

Through their official Facebook page, the Shipping Boys broke the news that Jackson would be going to Cyprus with Shakhtyor and sent their best wishes: “Christopher Jackson made the 23-man list for FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk’s preseason camp in Cyprus. The striker continues his trials with the Belarusian side. Good luck Chris.”
