Sanniquellie, Nimba – Nimba’s Superintendent Fong G. Zuagele has called on all citizens to continue to take efforts to combat the return of Ebola.
Speaking recently in Sanniquellie, Zuagele recounted the strength of the virus and warned all citizens should fight to keep the virus out of the country.
Zuagele said Ebola should be seen as a virus like malaria that could break out at any time if the preventive measures are taken lightly or forgotten.
“Ebola is going to be with us just as malaria is right now. We have all of the research going on, and it’s proven,†he said.
According to the Nimba County Superintendent, the simplest and most common means of preventing the reoccurrence of the virus was by washing hands and avoiding contact. He emphasized the outsized role health workers can play in halting the spread of the virus by encouraging them to take into consideration all of the precautionary measures to avoid a possible outbreak of the virus.
Zuagele also called upon citizens to report their loved ones to the hospital whenever they are sick or having the symptoms of illness. In cases of deaths, he also urged the public to have bodies tested before proceeding with burials.
