Stephen Seameh Moves to Mozambique

MONROVIA, Montserrado – LISCR Football Club’s midfielder Stephen Seameh has fulfilled his long-term dream of playing outside Liberia after completing a move to Mozambique. Seameh departed Liberia to sign with Costa do Sol that plays in the top Mozambican league.

The former Liberia U-20 international joins the Mozambican FA Cup and Super Cup champions on a two-year loan deal with the option of a permanent transfer based on his performances. Seameh’s move to the Southern African country was confirmed by LISCR Football Club via their official website.

“I am excited for the opportunity given me and I cannot wait to start a new chapter in my career – going to a new team with new teammates and new style of play,” Seameh told the club’s website. “It will be a different environment. With the help of God, I will do my best to adapt and help the club get the positive results. I am grateful to the to the LISCR FC family for giving me the opportunity to go out and explore my career.”

Seameh’s move to Mozambique has made him the third player from LISCR FC to move abroad in 2018. He joins Christopher Jackson, who moved to Belarusian top-flight club FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk, and Terrence Tisdell, who is already with Costa Do Sol.

Among those excited for Seameh’s departure was the president of LISCR FC, Mustapha Raji, who seems unbothered with vacuum created by the departure of his top talents. He said the club remains committed to promoting its talents.

“We are glad that the deal was reached,” he told the club’s website. “It’s all about promoting the talents within the club. We are committed to helping the players improve. We wish him the very best of luck in Mozambique.”

Seameh joined LISCR FC in 2014 from first division team NPA Anchors Football Club. At LISCR FC, he improved his game and represented the national U-20 side in the U20 Africa Nations Cup qualifier. Seameh played a key role in helping the LISCR FC team that won the double titles and setting an unbeaten league record during the 2017-18 season.
