The Perak Stadium was the center of attraction on Feb. 16 in the second round of the Malaysia Super League when fans gathered at the 42,500-seater stadium to watch Eric Weeks’ club Perak play against Patrick Ronaldinho Wleh’s Selangor.
Both teams obtained just a point from their first games and were desperately in search of their first three points. Wleh, who became the match’s hero after his lone goal, helped Selangor to a 1-0 victory over Perak. He scored in the 8th minute from the penalty spot.
Speaking to The Bush chicken after the match, Wleh hailed his team’s performance in the match. He considered it a tough one and had demanded more from his side in their upcoming fixtures. Further, he noted that he wasn’t at his best but expressed joy for getting on the score sheet.
Wleh scored three times from appearances in Selangor’s preseason matches but failed to score in their league opener against Johor.
The victory places Selangor in the third position on the league table with four points from two matches.
Meanwhile, Zah Krangar continues his 2016 goal scoring form. He registered his name on the scoresheet as his club Felda got a 2-1 victory away at Sawarak FA.
Krangar opened up the scoring in the 52nd minute, his second of the season. Then Sawarak scored equalized with a penalty in the 79th minute.
Both teams appeared to be destined to get a point each until Liberian international striker Francis Forkey Doe kicked in the game winner for Felda in the stoppage time.
With six points in two games, Felda United sits on top of the Super League table.
