The new Central Bank of Liberia’s executive governor-designate, Aloysius Tarlue, told senators on Thursday, Dec. 5 that he will work to restore public trust in the banking sector in the aftermath of a series of scandals involving the bank.

Liberia Joins Several African Countries to Test Response to Disease Outbreak

Liberia has taken part in global efforts to ramp up national preparedness to respond to sudden bacterial or viral outbreaks on the continent. At least 16 African countries are part of this year’s two-day simulation exercise aimed at responding to the outbreak of a potentially deadly communicable disease in the region.
