New Ganta Mayor Names City Hall Construction as Priority

GANTA, Nimba – The mayor designate for Ganta, Amos Suah, has disclosed that his top priority for the city when he is confirmed as mayor will be to construct a city hall.

Suah said he would achieve this collectively with the help of the citizens of Gompa City.

“We know how people can build churches — the congregation,” he said. “I believe strongly that the people of this community, they are hardworking people. They only need somebody who will guide them and their finances—I trust that the people of this community, together we will build that city hall.”

Suah maintained that he would also reach out for help to the Friends of Samuel N. Brown Network in Liberia, a political group that had promised during the campaign period to construct the city hall.

After the city hall, Suah said he would make the construction and rehabilitation of roads within the city a second priority.

“We are going to use shovels, diggers and wheel barrow to make our roads, before yellow machines can come in,” he said, referring to construction equipment.

He warned those who do not observe street limits before constructing on public roadway to expect their illegally built structures to be brought down.

Rounding up his remaining five top priorities, Suah said he would ensure a clean city, establish a city police force, and unify city residents.

As head of the city, Suah promised to live up to the full implementation of Pres. George Weah’s ‘Pro-Poor Agenda.’

“There are lots of other things we will be involved with, but these are the five key things on our agenda right now,” he added.

Suah is soon expected to appear before the Senate for his confirmation hearing.
