On March 3, 2017, Liberian R & B star singer, Quincy L. Borrow, nicknamed Quincy B, died from a car accident, on his way from a KARAOKE night, in Monrovia, Liberia. The artist was pulled out of the damaged vehicle and rush to the JFK Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Along with Quincy B involved in the accident were fellow artists Maurice Terziq Gayflor, nicknamed CIC, Margas Bimba and Feouls Kaba. CIC legs got broken in the accident while there were no injuries for both Margas Bimba and Feouls Kaba.

If the publicity around Helene Cooper’s new book is a reliable indicator, one would be hard pressed to expect a biography that does anything but draw on the tried and true single story that paints Liberia as a land torn by violence, where accountability is a luxury, and in which there is little to celebrate except the novelty of its female chief executive.
