MONROVIA, Montserrado – Unofficial provisional results from across the country indicate that the Liberty Party of Charles Brumskine is performing poorly in the elections contrary to expectations.

During pre-poll activities, the party proved to have had a huge partisan and support base in vote-rich counties, including Montserrado, Grand Bassa, Nimba and Margibi.

The party’s official campaign launch across the country pulled huge crowds of supporters and sympathizers. The current unofficial results, however, reveal that it is performing poorly.

So far, the party is fighting for a difficult-third place from Alexander Cummings’ Alternative National Congress, behind Sen. George Weah and Vice President, Joseph Boakai who are both leading in the presidential race.

In Grand Bassa, the home county that is considered the stronghold of its Presidential candidate Charles Brumskine because it is his native home, the LP is in a close lead with CDC.

Two incumbent lawmakers on the party’s ticket in the county, Rep. Byron Brown and Rep. Robertson Siaway are also likely to lose in their respective districts.

During the period of campaigning, the party boasted and showed to be the strongest in the county.

In past elections, the party has overwhelmingly won in Bassa.

In Nimba, the second vote-rich county next to Montserrado where its Vice-Presidential candidate, Harrison Karnwea and Campaign CEO, Moses Bility hail, the party is reportedly in third place, next to UP.

In Montserrado where the party had pulled a huge crowd during it national campaign launch, it is also lagging behind in the fourth position, according to the unofficial provisional results. Executives of the party had also earlier bragged about having a huge support base, next to CDC in the county.

At the same time, Margibi, Bong and Rivercess where Brumskine had spent most of his time campaigning, the party is also placed in the fourth position.

However, the unofficial results speak volume of a fake poll that was apparently being influenced by some executives. The poll placed the party at a comfortable lead in the presidential race.
