Ronaldinho Wleh’s Selangor Reaches Malaysia Cup Final

Patrick Ronaldinho Wleh’s Selangor reached the 2016 Malaysia Cup Final over the weekend following a 5-1 aggregate win over T-Team.

Selangor won the first leg 2-1 at home before climaxing it with a 3-0 execution away at T-Team.

Prior to the second leg, there were concerns that Selangor would not be able to defend its lead due to inconsistent performance throughout the year.

However, Selangor managed to outclass its opponents with goals from Nigerian defender Ugo Ukah, Malaysian forward Gopinathan Ramachandra, and Indonesian midfielder Andik Vermansyah.

Selangor will now face Kedah FA in the final.

Having lost 2-0 to Selangor in last year’s Malaysia Cup final, Kedah might come for revenge, but Wleh said he is confident of his team winning the title despite expecting a tough final.

“There is no easy game in football,” Wleh told The Bush Chicken. “We are playing a Kedah that is a very strong team. They are currently seated third in the league, and we are below them two places.”

Wleh said Kedah’s position on the league table would ensure that the match is difficult. He continued, “We have never had an easy journey and we are not expecting an easy final. However, we are confident of getting a win.”
