William Jebor’s Moroccan club Wydad Athletic continues to dominate the Moroccan premier league, sitting on top of the Morocco Botola Pro League with 19 points from seven games.

The Casablanca-based club has won six times and picked up a draw from their seven matches played.

Wydad kicked off the season with a narrow 3-2 win away at Olympique Khouribga, before winning their first game at home with a 2-1 win over Hoceima. They made it three wins from three games by beating Chabab Atlas Khenifra 3-1 at home and got their fourth victory with a 5-0 thrashing of FR Rabat away from home soil.

Wydad’s winning spree was put to a halt in the fifth match against Difaa El Jadidi at home. Despite Difaa being reduced to 10 men for the remaining four minutes of the match, Wydad was unable to prove supremacy, as they were held to a 1-1 draw.

However, they returned to winning ways in their sixth match against Moghreb Tetouan with a narrow 2-1 win at home to grab their fifth win of the season. They strengthen their lead at the top of the league table with 19 points after a 1-0 win in their seventh match.

The striker joined Wydad on a year loan from Portuguese Premier Liga side Rio Ave during the summer transfer and has since rediscovered his club scoring form after struggling for two seasons.

A regular goal scorer for Wydad since making his debut in the Moroccan Cup, Jebor scored twice in his second CAF Champions League appearance against Zamalek and has scored four times in the Moroccan Botola Pro League.

Jebor spent two seasons with Rio Ave and Spanish side Ponferradina scoring just a single league goal. He failed to net a single league with Rio Ave from 14 appearances. He scored his only league goal while on loan to then Spanish Second-tier club, Ponferradina.
